Hi Yama,

Interesting research - would be grateful to know where you found it?

I would definately agree that applications with poor spelling are very likley to be rejected by employers. If spelling is not your thing - always use spell check, read through your application or get someone else to read through to give you some help.

The only one I would disagree with is no relevant work experience. I think that employers of graduates realise that the opportunities for work experience can be slim. Obviously, it looks good it you have this - but my advice would be to sell the experience that you do have in terms of the skills you learned and achievements gained.

I think the research throws up some interesting points so I am going to write an email tip responding to the other points so if you are not a member then sign up to reciev our weekly email tip.

Thanks for your message, Lindsay
