I agree with you. I think you should include in your cv BSc Hons Clinical and Medicinal Chemistry and leave off the class - just include the years at which you were at university. If an interviewer does ask about which class you achieved, tell them its a 3rd and give a brief summmary why. Start by saying how well you did with the oral etc etc and then say how your final marks were affected by the situation at home. This is something you should practice to ensure it comes across as short, snappy and professional. Any interviewer worth their salt will identify that you have good skills. Good luck and don't be disheartened - Carol Vorderman got a 3rd and it hasn't done her career any harm.....
