Legally yes, but an employer is very unlikely to sue as its really not worth it. In my experience, as a Graduate Recruiter, acceptances were withdrawn by candidates on occasions - we never took any action though. Possibly the company could contact your university, I guess?
The downside for you, is that obviously it is unlikely that this employer would extend an offer to you again in the future and generally, its just not a nice thing to do.
