Take note

Hello [NAME]

This week's tip centres on the group exercise - and is short and to the point.

When being assessed in a group exercise there are always a number of roles that team members can adopt: time keeper, technical expert, flipchart recorder to mention just a few.

There is usually a role for a note-taker - so make sure that someone takes responsibility for this. If this is you, summarise the notes periodically and share them with the group. "So to summarise the pros are A, B, C and the cons we have are X, Y, Z….."

It doesn't matter how good your notes are - if you don't share them with the group they will not be assessed. If you reflect them back to the rest of group - you will get points on communication and team player competencies.

Good luck and don't forget to share any feedback or questions on our website message board www.1st-step.co.uk
