Tell me when you have failed …

Hello [NAME]

Tell me when you have failed …
This is the type of interview question that everyone dreads - until now……
We all have times when things have not gone as well as they could have. Consider how you would answer a question about your failures.

One candidate had very poor grades at "A" level - He was preoccupied with explaining the poor grades. Better, that he acknowledge the failure and move on immediately.
"I did poorly at A Level; however, I have learned from my mistakes, so that in my degree I have planned my time, got feedback from my lecturers and worked really hard. This has resulted in ...."

So whatever your failure is, always acknowledge it and then move on!

If there is something in your past that you would prefer to gloss over – don’t. Most companies verify qualifications, take up references from previous employers and do background checks so they are likely to find out about your ‘secret’ anyway. It is much better for you to bring the situation up – than the company to discover it after you have started work. This would result in a dismissal which would be very difficult to explain.
