Present at Your Best … Present at Your Best …
The poll on our website, www.1st-step.co.uk asks; If you are asked to undertake a presentation it is likely that the assessor will be assessing how you present as well as what you present. Most candidates consider the content but are less likely to think about their presentation style. So, make sure you introduce yourself, smile and build a rapport with your audience. Always tell them what you will be telling them in your presentation, then tell them and then summarise by telling them again. It is really important that you stick to time too, as the assessor will stop you once your time is up - and if you are still to make your key points - you will not make the best impression. Always practice your presentation at home in front of an audience - and ask them to give you constructive feedback - both on content and delivery. Get them to time you to make sure that you are on track. Most candidates speed up at the real thing - a tip, is to remember to take deep breaths to slow your self down. We have just changed the layout of our website to give it a fresh look and make it easier to navigate. Logon to www.1st-step.co.uk and give us feedback on what you like and what you want to see more of.
