Flip the group exercise to your advantage Hello [NAME]
Group exercises often include a flipchart. If this is the case, make sure you are sensitive to its proximity to the group. Standing at the flipchart may cause you to be alienated from the group and if you are not participating then you are not making any impact on the assessor. So, if you are nominated or you volunteer to record information on the flipchart ensure you are still connected and participating with the group. Do this by moving the flipchart closer to the table or add your point to the flipchart and then return to the table. If you notice that a colleague (at the flip chart) is stranded - move your chair so that they re-connect with the group or suggest that they move the flipchart closer. If you have any questions about group exercise or want to get more information logon to www.1st-step.co.uk and watch our videos of candidates participating in a group exercise.
