What will I be asked? We were asked recently what type of questions to expect at interview. This is a pretty broad subject but here is some advice to help you prepare for a competency based interview. When attending a competency based interview, your interviewer will ask questions based on the competencies required in the person they hire. So, first step, know the competencies. The questions asked will normally take the same format:
Give me an example of The format is known as S.T.A.R or situation, task, action, result and as long as you remember this it will give you a good guide to preparing your answers.
So a typical question on Teamwork (competency) might be: We are running free Workshops on Succeeding at Interview at the Job Scene Graduate Fair at the Cardiff International Arena on 8th and 9th November. If you would like to participate just turn up on the day and sign up. There are limited spaces available on both days.
