Be more influential...

Hello[NAME]

Your interviewers, assessors, colleagues are much more likely to be persuaded if you say “because”, because people like to have reasons for things.

Picture this scene, one person is photocopying - you need to make a copy...

“Excuse me, may I go ahead of you and make some copies?”
“Excuse me, may I go ahead of you and make some copies because I am in a terrible hurry?

Research shows that you are much more likely to influence the situation using the second statement than you are using the first because you have given a reason.

You can read more about this in Robert Cialdini’s book “Influence” or practise for yourself and see how influential you can become because practice makes perfect!

Good Luck!
