First Impressions Count

Hello[NAME]

There are a number of critical moments during your Assessment Centre journey: meeting your interviewer is one of these.
So make sure first impressions count by making a confident introduction, a firm handshake, a warm smile and making strong eye contact.

To help you do this keep in mind a positive picture of why you are attending the Assessment Centre and what you want to achieve. Take some time now to get that picture firmly in your mind by following these steps:

  • Think about your next interview or assessment centre

  • Make a picture in your mind

  • Make it big and bright

  • See yourself being confident and positive

  • Hear yourself speaking in a relaxed and natural way

  • Feel how comfortable you are when meeting your interviewer for the first time.

The more you practice this, the more you will find yourself behaving in this way.

Give it a go and let us know how you get on!
